Holly will be competing in the BEHS Training Challenge with Nevada Bandana, a Mustang mare that has been to a trainer before but has never been ridden.  You can follow their journey on our Facebook page, and go like www.facebook.com/NevadaBandana to help Bandi compete for the Most Popular Challenge Horse award!!

Well today started out very rainy and cold :( Had to reschedule most of my lessons because it is simply too cold and muddy to ride.  Hopefully I can get everyone taken care of tomorrow so that we don't get too far off track. Guess I will use today to get caught up on stuff around the house, and if the rain stays away I can put some rides on horses here at the house. I am very thankful for my sandy soil because we can ride as long as it's not actively raining!!

Well its officially spring break, and I couldn't be more excited!! Lessons are picking up and keeping me busy, as well as training, so daylight savings couldn't have come at a better time.  I am really looking forward to having more time to work with everybody! I have decided to show Dazzle in some open shows this year and see how she does.  That mare is gonna have a busy year! Oh and Diva goes to the vet tomorrow... hopefully we can figure out what the next s

We had a great time at Equifest today! The day was a long one but it was worth it. Made some new friends and got to spend time with some old ones. Wish it had been a little warmer, but I guess you can't have it all! We are home and settled in for the night; have a busy day tomorrow with church and lessons!

This weekend had already been a busy one! I had another lesson with Riley yesterday and she did great! She even managed to stay calm and slow Si down when he trotted while she was walking figure eights and working on her steering. Then I put her back on the lead line and she got to trot a lot longer than her last lesson, which helped her to start getting more confident with her seat and steering while her horse was trotting, which was a great place to end the lesson.

Today I went to McKinney to work with a horse and meet a client so she could bring a horse to my house. Hershey is a Rocky mountain gelding who is going to be a lot of fun working on his trail manners :) Tomorrow I am meeting with a new lesson client, and I am so excited about working with them!

To top it all off, it's a beautiful day! Can't wait for spring :)

Riley saddling up Si for her lesson.

Today I went to Wolfe City and had lesson number 4 with Riley and her horse Si. She is steadily improving on her saddling and groundwork skills, and she has a very natural seat. I explained the biomechanics of a horses gaits to her and asked if she wanted to trot. She was very scared and nervous so instead I got on Si and trotted him for her so she could see it. This helped her have the confidence to try it and she successfully trotted both ways on the lunge line! I am very proud of her. Can't wait till our lesson next week!
